Spine Services at %facility name%%

Our Neurosurgery & Spine Department specializes in diagnosing and treating conditions of the nervous system including the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) and the peripheral nervous system (ganglion and nerves). We utilize medical technology, extensive experience, and innovative neurosurgical methods to help patients regain their neurological health and mobility. While most people tend to perceive neurosurgeons as brain surgeons, their specialization extends much further than the brain.

Our neurosurgeons are qualified to handle complex neurological issues including vascular disorders and spinal degenerative diseases that may cause back and neck pain. In many cases, surgery may not be required to treat the symptoms. When required, however, our neurosurgeons’ rigorous training allows them to utilize innovative neurosurgical procedures to treat patients of all ages.

Symptoms That May Require Neurosurgery

Patients that require neurosurgery commonly exhibit three or more of the following symptoms:

  • Headaches
  • Clumsiness and drowsiness
  • Muscle weakness
  • Difficulty speaking
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Complete or partial paralysis
  • Difficulty thinking, remembering, reading, or writing
  • Exhaustion or weakness
  • Loss of vision
  • Reduced alertness
  • Loss of sensation in the arms of legs
  • Numbness
  • Seizures
  • Poor cognitive abilities
  • Confusion or personality changes
  • Changes in speech

Prolonging the period between the onset of symptoms and diagnosis can worsen the condition, thereby increasing the chances of requiring invasive surgery. As symptoms exacerbate, patients also experience heightened confusion, stress, anxiety.
